Oxfendazole


  • Class: Benzimidazole anthelmintic
  • Action: It inhibits polymerisation of tubulin in the parasite and blocks the glucose uptake. It interferes with enzyme fumerate reductase and this inhibits the energy production in the parasite resulting in death of the parasite. It has wormicidal, larvicidal and ovicidal action and have a wide safety margin and non it is non- embryotoxic.
  • Indications: Nematodal, cestodal and trematodal infections (both adult and larval stages)
  • Dosage:               Oral

                Cattle, Goat, Sheep: 5 mg/kg
                Pig: 3-4.5 mg/kg
                Horse: 10 mg/kg
