Ceftriaxone


  • Class: 3rd generation cephalosporin
  • Action: It is a beta lactam antibiotic that produces its bactericidal action by interfering with the production of cell wall peptidoglycans, thus causing cell wall lysis.
  • Indications: BQ, HS, Bronchopneumonia, Nephritis, Cystitis, Endometritis, Metritis, Pyometra, Mastitis, Actinobacillosis, Osteo arthritis, Bacterial meningitis, pre operative prophylaxis, post operative treatment
  • Dosage:               IM, IV, SC

                Large Animals: 5- 15 mg/kg

                Small Animals: 15- 25 mg/kg
