Cefalexin

• Class: 1st generation cephalosporin
• Action: It interfere with bacterial cell wall synthesis by inactivating transpeptidase enzyme, thereby producing bactericidal effect.
• Anti bacterial spectrum: Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, Corynebacterium, Clostridium, E.coli, Proteus, Klebsiella
• Indications: RTI, UTI, Mixed bacterial infections, Fowl cholera, Salmonellosis
• Dosage:               Oral

               Cattle, Buffalo: 5- 10 mg/kg BID
               Dog, Cat: 10 - 30 mg/kg TID

               Each 4.0 g (60 ml when reconstituted as directed) contains Cephalexin IP                              equivalent to anhydrous Cephalexin 1.5 g

               Indications: Intrauterine Infections like Metritis, Endometritis, Cervicitis,                                Pyometra, Post-Partum Septic Metritis.

• LIXEN PET               Virbac

               Using the measuring cup provided, add 3 full measuring cups (30 ml) of boiled and
               cooled water to the bottle and shake well. Adjust the volume up to mark by adding
               more water of necessary. This makes 60 ml Suspension. Prepared suspension to                  be used within 4 days at room temperature.

                       Prevention of chick mortality: 20 g/ 1500 chicks for 5 days in drinking water.

                               Growers: 20 g/ 250 birds for 3-5 days
                                Layers: 20 g/ 100 birds for 3-5 days
