- Class: 3rd generation cephalosporin
- Action: It interfere with bacterial cell wall synthesis by inactivating transpeptidase enzyme, thereby producing bactericidal effect.
- Anti bacterial spectrum: Pasturella hemolytica, Pasturella multocida, Haemophilus somnus, Fusobacterium necrophorum, Actinobacillus, Moraxella bovis, Actinomyces pyogenes, Streptococcus, Staphylococcus
- Indications: Respiratory tract infections, Urinary tract prophylaxis and therapy in surgery
- Dosage:
Cattle, Sheep, Goat: 1.1 - 2.2 mg/kg IM
Horse: 2.2 - 4.4 mg/kg IM
Pig: 3- 5 mg/kg IM
Dog: 2.2 mg/kg SC
Day old chicks: 0.08- 0.2 mg/bird SC
