Ketoconazole


  • Class: Imidazole antifungal
  • Action: It increases cellular membrane permeability and causes secondary metabolic effects and growth inhibition. The exact mechanism for these effects have not been determined, but may be due to ketoconazole interfering with ergosterol synthesis.
  • Indications: Blastomyces, Coccidiodes, Cryptococcus, Histoplasma, Microsporum and Trichophyton in dogs and cats.
  • Dosage:               Oral
                Dog, Cat: 10 mg/kg
