Gentamicin

  • Class: Aminoglycoside anti bacterial
  • Action: It act on susceptible bacteria by irreversibly binding to the 30S ribosomal subunit thereby inhibiting protein synthesis. It is considered to be an bactericidal antibiotic.
  • Anti bacterial spectrum: E.coli,Proteus, Enterobacter, Serratia, Salmonella, Shigella, Pseudomonas, Mycoplasma, Staphylococcus
  • Indications: UTI, mastitis, metritis, wound infections, pyometra, otitis, pneumonia, ocular infections, Baby pig scours, enzootic pneumonia gastroenteritis, MMA syndrome, RTI, GI infections, CRD complex, wing rot, colibacillosis, mycoplasmosis in turkeys.
  • Dosage:               IM/ IV
                Cattle, Sheep, Goat, Pig, Dog, Cat: 4 mg/kg BID
                Poultry: 3-5 mg/kg
