- Class: Broad spectrum antibiotic
- Action: It acts by binding to the 50S ribosome, thereby inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis.
- Indications: Used in cattle for the treatment of bovine respiratory disease (BRD) associated with Pasteurella haemolytica, Pasteurella multocida and Haemophilus somnus.
- Dosage: IM
Cattle: 20 mg/kg IM (in neck muscle only); repeat in 48 hours or
40 mg/kg SC single dose
The dose volume given at any one injection site should not exceed 10 ml in cattle, 3 ml in pig.
