Pyrantel


  • Class: Pyrimidine-derivative anthelmintic
  • Action: It acts as a depolarizing neuromuscular blocking agent in susceptible parasites, thereby paralyzing the organism. The drug possesses nicotine-like properties and acts similarly to acetylcholine. It also inhibits cholinesterase.
  • Indications: Nematodal infestations
  • Dosage:                Oral
               Dog, Cat: 5-10 mg/kg

               Horse: 6.6 mg/kg
