Flunixin

• Class: Nicotinic acid derivative NSAID
• Action: It is a very potent inhibitor of cyclooxygenase 2 enzyme thereby inhibiting the synthesis of prostaglandin. It exhibits analgesic, anti-inflammatory and antipyrexic activity.
• Indications: Inflammation and pain associated with musculoskeletal disorders, visceral pain associated with colic in the horse. In cattle, control of pyrexia associated with bovine respiratory disease and endotoxemia.
• Dosage:               IM, IV, SC

                Cattle, Buffalo: 1.1-2.2mg/ kg IV

                Horse: 1.1mg/kg IM/ IV

                Dog: 0.5-2.2mg/ kg IM/IV
